Sofia Henriksson (born February 20, 1994 in Piteå ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Henriksson, who competes for Piteå Elit SK, took part in junior races from 2010 to 2014. She achieved her first successes at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2011 in Liberec . There she won bronze over 5 km freestyle, silver in the sprint and gold over 7.5 km classic. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Erzurum in 2012 and in Liberec in 2013 , she won silver and gold with the relay. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme , she won silver over 5 km classic and gold with the relay. She ran her first World Cup race at the beginning of the 2014/15 season in Ruka , which she finished classically in 12th place over 10 km and thus won her first World Cup points. This was followed by 49th place at the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer and with ninth place over 10 km classic in Davos, her first top ten placement in the World Cup. In the 2015/16 season she finished in the top ten three times in the Scandinavian Cup . She took two wins and finished second in the overall standings at the end of the season. In the following season, she won third place with the relay at the World Cup in Ulricehamn and second place over 5 km classic at the Scandinavian Cup in Madona .
