Harald Lemmerer

Harald Lemmerer (born December 30, 1991 ) is an Austrian Nordic combined athlete and biathlete who competes for the WSC Bad Mitterndorf-Styria club.

Career

Between January 24th and 31st, 2010, he took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2010 in Hinzenbach and took 24th place in the competition, which consisted of the ski jump from the normal hill and a 10-kilometer cross-country ski run. In the team competition, he finished ninth together with Thomas Egger Riedmüller, Franz-Josef Rehrl and Mario Seidl . In the Nordic Combined World Cup, he made his debut on December 18, 2010 at the Home World Cup in Ramsau and finished 50th in the fifth World Cup competition of the 2010/11 season . In this season he also took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2011 in Otepää and took 18th place in the competition, which consisted of ski jumping from the normal hill and 10-kilometer cross-country skiing.

He won his first World Cup points in the 2011/12 season. At the home World Cup in Seefeld, he finished 30th in the competition on December 17, 2011 and collected one World Cup point. During the season there was only one World Cup point and he and his compatriot Sepp Schneider took 61st place in the overall ranking.

In Tchaikovsky on January 4, 2014, he finished 14th, his best placement in a World Cup individual competition. On January 12, 2014, he took part in a team competition for the first time and, together with Mario Stecher, took 9th place in the team sprint in Chaux-Neuve . In the overall ranking of the 2013/14 season he finished 44th with a total of 45 points. He achieved his best individual World Cup result in the 2014/15 season at the competition on January 30, 2015 in Val di Fiemme . At the end of this season he finished 39th overall with a total of 61 points.

At the beginning of winter 2017/18 Lemmerer switched to biathlon , in the strong Austrian team he was initially only able to qualify for participation in the second-rate IBU Cup . He had his first podium finish in the 2018/19 season at the last race of the IBU Cup in Martell , and with just one shooting error he had to admit defeat to the victorious French Aristide Bègue at the first time of the new Mass Start 60 . In the 2019/20 season, Harald Lemmerer was promoted to the Austrian World Cup team. After another second place at the first IBU Cup of the season in Sjusjøen , he was nominated for his first appearance in the World Cup. In the sprint race at the Home World Cup in Hochfilzen in December 2019 , he reached 51st place with a shooting error and thus qualified for the pursuit race.
