Sepp Schneider (born June 3, 1991 in Egg ) is a former Austrian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Sepp Schneider reached 30th place in his World Cup debut on February 11, 2012 in Almaty and thus his first World Cup point. In January 2013 he made his debut in the Austrian relay at the World Cup in Schonach as a starting runner and finished fourth with it. Shortly afterwards, the combiner tore his cruciate ligament for the third time.

On January 30, 2015, he achieved his best individual placement to date with 4th place at the World Cup in Val di Fiemme , although he only had to admit defeat to Norwegian Jørgen Graabak by 0.4 seconds in the finish sprint . The next day he achieved the first World Cup podium in the team sprint together with Bernhard Gruber . With these achievements, Schneider qualified for his first major event, the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . On May 28, 2018, Sepp Schneider ended his career due to health problems.

Sepp Schneider is the younger brother of the former ski jumper Balthasar Schneider .
