Mirjam Veglio

Mirjam Veglio (born August 3, 1967 in Bern ; resident in Corzoneso ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Mirjam Veglio grew up in the Tscharnergut in Bern-Bethlehem , where she also attended elementary school. After completing a sales apprenticeship, she completed her trade diploma while working and then worked as a clerk. This was followed by a management and higher business diploma and finally an apprenticeship as a business economist. Mirjam Veglio has two children. She lives in Zollikofen .

Mirjam Veglio was a member of the large municipal council (legislative) of Zollikofen from 2000 to 2010, where she was a member of the building commission from 2002 to 2004 and the business audit commission from 2008 to 2010. In 2010 she was elected Vice-President of the City Council. In 2011 Veglio was elected to the municipal council (executive) of Zollikofen and took over the department of social affairs and health. In 2013 she was elected Vice President of the Municipality and in 2017 she took over the Department of Construction and Environment. Veglio has been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern since March 1, 2017 , where she is a member of the Security Commission.

From 2005 to 2010 Mirjam Veglio was President of the SP Zollikofen and since 2019 she has been Co-President of the SP Canton Bern . She is president of the board of trustees of the Rudolf Trabold Foundation in Zollikofen and board member of SRG Bern / Freiburg / Wallis.
