Hanna Erikson (born June 2, 1990 in Örebro ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Erikson, who started for Åsarna IK , contested her first international championship in 2007 at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Jaca , where she finished tenth over 7.5 kilometers of freestyle. At the Junior World Championships in 2008 in Val Venosta , she won the silver medal with the Swedish relay. Her best individual result was seventh place in the sprint competition. In 2009 Erikson won her first sprint competition in the Scandinavian Cup in Keuruu . At the 2009 Junior World Championships in Praz de Lys Sommand , she won the silver medal in the sprint competition and with the Finnish relay. In the skiathlon she was third. These results enabled her to work at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec . However, the sprint specialists were only used on the longer distances. Her best result was the 38th place over 10 kilometers classic. Even in her first appearance in the World Cup competition at the cross-country skiing World Cup finals in 2008/2009 , she did not rank among the 30 best female athletes. Erikson won his first World Cup points in the 2009/10 season at the World Cup in Rogla , where she finished eleventh in the sprint competition. At the start of the Tour de Ski 2008/09 she also convinced as tenth at the prologue in Oberhof . Erikson won the gold medal in the sprint competition at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten . Over 5 kilometers classic and with the Swedish relay she won the bronze medal. At the start of the 2010/11 season , Erikson came in sixth in Düsseldorf for the first time in the finals of a World Cup sprint competition. In Otepää , she only had to admit defeat to Petra Majdič and celebrated her first podium finish in a World Cup competition. In the same place, Erikson took fifth place in the sprint competition and 14th place over 10 kilometers of freestyle at the 2011 U23 World Championships . At the end of the season she finished 39th in the overall World Cup and 15th in the Sprint World Cup. At the beginning of the 2011/12 season she achieved 47th place at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo . At the Tour de Ski 2011/12 , which she ended prematurely, she came third in the prologue race. In January 2012 she won her first World Cup victory in the team sprint in Milan with Ida Ingemarsdotter . At the World Cup finals in Falun she finished 33rd and reached 28th place in the overall World Cup and 12th place in the sprint. At the Swedish championships in 2012, she won the team sprint, with the relay and over 30 km. After 43rd place at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo at the beginning of the 2013/14 season, he won the sprint stage of the Tour de Ski 2013/14 in Oberstdorf . At the season highlight, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she finished 52nd in the sprint. Her last World Cup participation was at the 2014 World Cup Final in Falun.
