Lucas Bögl (born June 14, 1990 ) is a German cross-country skier .

Career

In December 2010, Bögl achieved his first podium in the cross-country alpine cup with third place over 15 km classic in Alta Badia and shortly afterwards took part in the Tour de Ski 2010/11 , but did not finish the race. In a stage race held as part of the Alpine Cup, Bögl reached second place in the prologue a little later in February 2011 in Campra and third place on the next stage, which was held over 10 km in free style. The Tour de Ski 2012/13 ended Bögl prematurely after two stages, but a few days later started the Alpine Cup in Oberwiesenthal where he reached third place over 10 km freestyle. In February 2013 he came second in the Alpine Cup at the 15 km freestyle pursuit race in Rogla and in February 2014 he won a freestyle relay race in the Alpine Cup with the German relay in Oberwiesenthal. In January 2015, Bögl started the Tour de Ski for the third time, with the 17th of the prologue in Oberstdorf , the 29th of the mass start stage and the 22nd fastest time in the final mountain pursuit in Val di Fiemme, three times in the course of the race with World Cup points scored; He finished the stage race in 32nd place overall. In March 2015, Bögl achieved his first victory in an individual race in the Alpine Cup in the 30 km mass start race in the classic technique in Rogla. He finished the Tour de Ski 2016 in 39th place. In January 2016 he became German champion over 30 km freestyle in Oberhof . In the 2016/17 season he achieved 19th place in the 2016/17 Tour de Ski and 36th place in the World Cup final in Québec and reached 58th place in the overall World Cup. His best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti were 18th place in the 50 km mass start race and sixth place with the relay. The following season he came 25th in the Tour de Ski 2017/18 and 48th in the World Cup final in Falun. His best results at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were 15th in the 15 km freestyle and sixth in the relay.

In the 2018/19 season, Bögl finished 30th in the Lillehammer Triple and 22nd in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 , reaching 56th place in the overall World Cup and 42nd place in the Distance World Cup. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he ran to 34th place in the skiathlon , 31st place in the 50 km mass start race and 26th place over 15 km classic. At the end of March 2019, at the German cross-country skiing championships in Reit im Winkl, together with Sebastian Eisenlauer, he was German champion in the team sprint and second in the mass start race over 30 km freestyle. In the following season he achieved 27th place in the Ruka Triple and 16th place in the Tour de Ski 2019/20 , 35th place in the overall World Cup.
