The Bakovský potok (German Bakower Bach ) is a left tributary of the Vltava in the Czech Republic .
course
The Bakovský potok rises one and a half kilometers east of Kroučová within the Džbán Nature Park in Džbán . Its source is located in the Řevničovská pahorkatina hills northeast of the Králka summit (516 m nm) at the Králka single layer. On its northeastern headwaters, the brook has cut deeply into the plan and sandstone layers of the Džbán and is dammed in numerous ponds. Along the Bakovský potok, in the increasingly broader valley, which was formerly called Podlesí, lie the places Kalivody , Bdín , Srbeč , Spálený Mlýn, Dubová Chaloupka, Hřešice and Pozdeň . Then the brook leaves the Džbán nature park at the Plchovský rybník pond. Its further course leads through Plchov and Kvílice , where the stream is crossed by the state road I / 7 between Louny and Slaný , to Kutrovice . There the Bakovský potok reaches the Perucká tabule ( Perutzer Tafelland ) and flows in an easterly direction through Neprobylice and Královice . The Bakovský potok will then be bridged by the Prague – Most railway line. The stream then flows through Lužecký Mlýn, Drchkov, Bakov, Beřovice , Myslivárna, Hobšovice , Nabdín, Podhorní Mlýn and Velvary . On its lower course the brook turns to the northeast; on the outskirts of Velvary it is crossed by the beet railway leading to the former sugar factory. The Bakovský potok then flows past Budihostice and Chržín, where it feeds the Chržínský pond. It then forms a wide, deeply cut valley with several loops, where the places Sazená and Nová Ves are located. Below Nová Ves, the stream is bridged by the state road I / 16 from Mělník to Slaný. It then flows past Nové Ouholice and is crossed by the D8 motorway southeast of exit 18 . The last section of Bakovský potok leads through Vepřek and under the Prague – Děčín railway line . After that the brook flows into the Vltava after 40.3 kilometers east of Vepřek .
On the upper reaches of Bakovský potok, the wetland around the ponds Žabach, Poboř and Jezero near Kalivody is protected as a natural monument PP Kalivody . At Hobšovický rybník, the wetland above the pond is protected as a natural monument PP Hobšovický rybník .
The Bakovský potok is the last major tributary of the Vltava before it flows into the Elbe . At its middle course in the Perucká tabule the stream has only a few tributaries; The area, which is mainly used for agriculture, is one of the poorest in rainfall in the country.
