Sazená (German Sasena ) is a municipality with 272 inhabitants (2006) in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers north of Kralupy nad Vltavou and belongs to the Okres Kladno . The community area is 677 ha.

The place is 176 m above sea level. M. left side of the Vltava in the valley of the Bakovský potok . State road 16 runs southeast of the municipality between the D8 motorway at Nová Ves and Velvary , behind which lies the central oil depot in the Czech Republic near Nelahozeves . In the northwest of the municipality is the Sazená sports airfield (LKSZ).
Neighboring towns are Ledčice in the north, Nová Ves in the northeast, Nové Ouholice in the east, Staré Ouholice and Podhořany in the southeast, Uhy in the south, Chržín in the southwest, Miletice in the west and Loucká in the northwest.
history
The village was probably formed in the 12th century when the area was colonized. Sazená was first mentioned in a document in 1295 as the property of the local noblemen Theodorik and Držkraj. Until the 16th century the place belonged to various insignificant landlords. In 1513 the village was burned down. At that time Sazená owned Prague's Old Town , which in 1547 sold the village to the Royal Chamber.
A year later, Florian Griespek von Griespach acquired the village from Ferdinand I and added it to his rule Mühlhausen . In 1606 the Griespach had the Sazená Castle built, around which the manorial estate developed over time. In 1757 the Doksany Monastery acquired the estate. The brewery was given up during the Premonstratensian cultivation . The period up to 1773 was the heyday of the estate, several barns, the granary and the sheep farm were built, the castle and the bridge were repaired. After the abolition of the monastery in 1782, Count Ulrich Kinský bought the estate and added it to the Zlonice rulership . In 1810 a major fire destroyed 30 houses. During the Napoleonic Wars, large coalition troops passed through in 1813 on the way to the battles near Dresden and Kulm .
After serfdom was abolished, the manor was dissolved in 1848 and divided into two farms. After the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1921, the Kinský large estates were nationalized. The castle and most of the forest became community property. From 1947 to 1948 the castle was converted into a culture house and now it is u. a. Seat of the municipal office.
From October 13th to 19th, 2002 the world championships in rocket model sport took place at the sports airfield, in which approx. 300 athletes from 11 countries took part.

Events
Every year in September / October, the LKSZ sports airfield is the venue for the Sazená Cup, a model rocket flight competition in which competitions in all model rocket competition classes take place.
The Aerotour Sazená motor glider meeting has been held at the airfield since 1991 by the Aeroklub Kralupy nad Vltavou and motor gliders from the Upper Palatinate. The highest turnout was in 1994 with 50 crews. But not only motor gliders come, but machines of all types. The next event will take place on the last weekend in August 2011.
