Hostouň (German: Hostaun) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It belongs to the Okres Kladno .
Geographical location
Hostouň is seven kilometers southeast of Kladno and 16 kilometers west of Prague city center. Hostouň is on the Bohemian Table. The Sulovický potok flows through Hostouň from southwest to northeast. It flows on the northeastern outskirts of Hostouň in the Dobrovzský potok, which flows around the village in an arc on its eastern edge. The Dobrovzský potok flows one and a half kilometers northwest of Hostouň at Žákův Mlýn into the Zákolanský potok .
history
The village of Hostouň was first mentioned in writing in 1294. It was one of the goods of the Prague burgrave. Šafránov is one of the oldest farms in Hostouň and has been preserved to this day.

Judaism in Hostouň
Jews began to settle in Hostouň in the 16th century. They formed a Jewish community.
This community had a Jewish cemetery about 1 kilometer southwest of Hostouň on a wooded slope.
In 1850 the old Jewish cemetery was expanded by a new Jewish cemetery, which was a little closer to the village.
Attractions
- Church of St. Bartholomew, originally Gothic from the 14th century, modified in Baroque style in the early 18th century. The tower was built in 1773.
