Žilina (German Schillin ) is a municipality with 755 inhabitants (2006) in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers southwest of Kladno and belongs to the Okres Kladno . The community area is 786 ha.
geography
The village is located at the transition from the Pürglitzer forest to the Kladno coal basin at 394 m above sea level. M. The route of the expressway R 6 / European route 48 runs northeast between Nové Strašecí and Kladno.
Neighboring towns are Tuchlovice and Kamenné Žehrovice in the north, Doksy in the northeast, Družec in the east, Dolní Bezděkov in the southeast, Lhota in the south, Ploskov and Nový Dvůr in the west and Lány in the northwest.
history
Žilina was built around the middle of the 12th century, the first documentary evidence of the place and the church comes from a pontifical tithe list from 1352. On May 7, 1353, King Charles IV left the village belonging to the Pürglitz fiefs together with Krupá , Bratronice and Olešná the mansionaries of the Church of St. Vitus at Prague Castle . After the Hussite Wars , the village fell to the Bohemian Crown. Ferdinand I left the village to Jan Bořita von Martinic in 1552 . From that time on, the place belonged to the Smečno manor . In 1634 the Swedes burned the village on the way to Prague. A new church was built between 1770 and 1771.
After patrimonial was replaced, Žilina became an independent municipality in 1850, which was assigned to the judicial district of Neustraschitz and the political district of Schlan .
After the dissolution of the Okres Slaný, Žilina came to the Okres Nové Strašecí in 1949, which existed until 1960, and has been part of the Okres Kladno ever since . In 1980 the southern neighboring town of Lhota was incorporated, which in 1990 became independent again.
