history
Archaeological finds show that the area has been settled since the Neolithic period from 4500 to 2400 BC. The place was first documented in 1257 by Ottokar II Přemysl , who left it to the newly founded New Town of Prague . In 1327 Unhošť was raised by John of Luxembourg to a town with limited self-government, to which the surrounding villages were assigned. On October 19, 1329, the king handed the St. Peter and Paul Church over to the Lords of the Cross with the Red Star in Prague. Unhošť became a medieval educational center and the first school was established in 1380. The location on the road from Prague to Křivoklát gave the town an advantageous basis for development. King Vladislav II extended the privileges on May 15, 1489 and released Unhošť from the jurisdiction of Prague's Lesser Town .
In 1793, Emperor Franz II granted Unhošť full city rights. After the patrimonial jurisdiction was replaced, Unhoscht became the seat of a political district as well as a judicial and tax district in 1850. Until 1878 the town of Kladno also belonged to the judicial district of Unhoscht. In 1927 the Okres Unhošť was dissolved and the town became part of the Okres Kladno . The Čeperka mineral fountain in Nouzov started operations in 1929, and it stopped bottling in the 1970s.
