history

Horní Bezděkov was laid out in the Pürglitz Forest on an old hunting trail leading from Prague via Zbečno to the Pürglitz Castle . Bezděkov u Unhoště was first mentioned in writing in 1260, when King Ottokar II Přemysl incorporated the village, which had previously belonged to the property of the Prague diocese , into the chamber property . A little later, however, he left the village to Beroun citizens. King John of Luxembourg bought the village back and added it to the Pürglitzer estates.

In 1658, Emperor Leopold I pledged the Crown Rule of Pürglitz to Johann Adolf von Schwarzenberg for three years . In 1685 Leopold I sold the rule to Ernst Joseph Count von Waldstein . In 1731 Johann Joseph Graf von Waldstein bequeathed the rule to his daughter and universal heiress Maria Anna Fürstin zu Fürstenberg , who in 1756 united her in a will with the rule of Kruschowitz and the Gut Nischburg to form a family entailment of 400,000 guilders. Half of the inheritance went to her sons Joseph Wenzel zu Fürstenberg-Stühlingen and Karl Egon I zu Fürstenberg, the other half to her daughters Henriette Fürstin von Thurn und Taxis and Maria Theresia zu Fürstenberg. She appointed her second-born son Karl Egon I as Fideikommisserbeer , who also acquired the shares of his siblings through compensation. After the death of Karl Egon I, his eldest son Philipp Fürst zu Fürstenberg († 1790) inherited the property in 1787, followed by his children Karl Gabriel zu Fürstenberg († 1799) and Leopoldine Princess of Hesse-Rothenburg-Rheinfels. In 1803, the female heirs renounced a family settlement in favor of the minor Karl Egon II zu Fürstenberg and the princely and landgrave houses of Fürstenberg; Joachim Egon Landgraf von Fürstenberg was appointed as administrator until he came of age in 1817.

In 1843 Ober-Bezdiekau / Hornj Bezděkow consisted of 42 houses with 268 inhabitants. One of the houses - the Potepl mill - belonged to Gut Neuhof . In the village there was a stately Hegerhaus (house no. 7). Parish was Unhoscht . Until the middle of the 19th century, Ober-Bezdiekau remained subordinate to Fideikommiss Pürglitz .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Horní Bezděkov / Upper Bezdiekau with Dolní Bezděkov, Malé Kyšice and Poteplí from 1850, the municipality Bezděkov / Bezdiekau in District Smichow and judicial district Unhoscht with an area of 1,209 hectares. After the death of Karl Egon II zu Fürstenberg in 1854, his second-born son Max Egon I inherited the Fideikommiss Pürglitz. From 1893 the municipality belonged to the Kladno district , at the same time the name of the municipality was changed to Horní Bezděkov / Upper Bezdiekau . In the school year 1918/19, 166 children were educated in Horní Bezděkov. In 1923 the districts Dolní Bezděkov and Malé Kyšice broke away and formed their own communities. In 1926, a water cooperative was formed to ameliorate the wetlands. In 1930 bus services from Kladno via Horní Bezděkov, Unhošť and Hořelice to Prague began. The village was electrified at the end of the year. In 1932 there were 305 people living in Horní Bezděkov. In the course of the construction of the Prague line of the Czechoslovak Wall , a bunker was built on the Brdce in 1937. After only 19 children were enrolled in Horní Bezděkov in the 1960/61 school year, the school was closed. The community has had a coat of arms and a banner since 1998.
