Uhy (German Uha ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers northwest of Kralupy nad Vltavou and belongs to the Okres Kladno .
geography
The place is located 199 m above sea level. M. in the North Bohemian table country on the left side of the Vltava valley between the Vltava and the Bakovský potok . East of the municipality is the central oil depot in the Czech Republic near Nelahozeves . State Road 616 runs through Uhy between Nelahozeves and Velvary . State road 16 runs to the northwest between the D 8 motorway at Nová Ves and Velvary.
Neighboring towns are Chržín and Sazená in the north, Nové Ouholice in the northeast, Podhořany and Hleďsebe in the east, Nelahozeves in the southeast, Lešany in the south, Velká Bučina and Radovič in the southwest, Nové Uhy and Velvary in the west and Dolní Kamenice and Budihostice in the northwest.
history
Uhy was first mentioned in a document in 1318. Part of the village was owned by the Order of the Cross Lords of St. Maria. In 1436 Václav Baštský bought the goods and in 1495 the village belonged to the Lords of Schellenberg. This was followed from 1528 by the Sezema from Ústí, from 1536 by Sigismund Slezský from Chlum and in the 17th century by Bohuchval Valkoun from Adlar. In 1736, Count Philipp Kinský had a baroque palace built, which the rulers then mainly used as the seat of the estate administration for the Vorwerk and which was converted into an estate in the 19th century for this purpose . Until the middle of the 19th century, the church in Zlonice was the owner of the goods.
After the abolition of patrimonial Uhy / Uha formed a political municipality in the Slaný district . Since the 1870s Uhy was attached to Chržín and became independent again in 1907. In 1921 the community came to Okres Kralupy nad Vltavou and since 1960 it has belonged to Okres Kladno .

Attractions
- Schlösschen Uhy, only the mansard roof of the former castle building has been preserved after it has been converted into an estate . The complex is in complete disrepair and since it has not been classified as a cultural monument, future preservation is very questionable.
