Nelahozeves (formerly also Nalezoves, Nalžoves , German: Mühlhausen ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . The place is located 2 km north of Kralupy nad Vltavou on the left bank of the Vltava .
history
1352 Nelahozeves was first mentioned in a document. However, the first settlement took place in the early Stone Age . The community probably got the name from the founder Nelahoda , other sources interpret the name as "the not found village".
The village with a fortress originally belonged to the Bohemian prince and later to the Prague chapter . In the time of the Hussites it passed back into the hands of the Bohemian rulers. In 1469, King George of Podebrady gave the place to his advisor Řehoř z Heimburka , who was expropriated again a short time later. This was followed by a rapid change between ecclesiastical and secular owners of the manor , which was often associated with disputes. From 1544 to 1558, Florian Griespek von Griespach (1509–1589), a favorite of Emperor Ferdinand I, received the lands. He and his son Blasius built a renaissance castle over time. After the death of Blasius Griespek von Griespach, the noble family was so indebted that Nelahozeves had to sell it to Polyxena von Lobkowicz . The Raudnitz line of Lobkowicz held the village for centuries.
During the Thirty Years War the village was plundered several times by Swedes . Many residents were Protestant and were either chased out or forced to be Catholic during the re-Catholicization of Bohemia. In 1680 the residents took part in the peasant uprisings, which were later bloodily suppressed. The single-minded reconstruction took place in the second half of the 17th century. In the 18th century, people took part in revolts against hereditary subservience.
In 1866, after the German War , the local castle was converted into a large hospital. In the years that followed, industrialization also found its way here. A factory for the production of office supplies was established. Another made Christmas decorations. In 1923 the large factory for the production of fats and soaps was established.
The central oil storage facility in the Czech Republic is located above the Vltava valley near Podhořany and Uhy, and the Ingolstadt – Kralupy – Litvínov pipeline also ends here.
