history
The area was already settled in the Neolithic . In the 7th to 10th centuries, Slavs built the first fortresses here. A watchtower used to stand on the site of today's church, which was used to guard the trade route that passed the Vratenská brána near the Kamenec Castle and continued to Serbia. The Pšovani and Lemuzi families settled here in the 10th century . There was also an old farm in Lobeč, which later belonged to the Bohemian king and was administered from the Bezděz Castle . The place was first mentioned in a document in 1205.
