Ledčice (German Letschitz , older also Lethschitz , Ledschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located ten kilometers south of Roudnice nad Labem and belongs to the Okres Mělník .

geography

The Ledčice round is located on the Bohemian Table in the headwaters of the Čepel brook. The D8 / E 55 motorway runs west of the village , behind which there is a gravel pit. In the southwest is the Sazená airfield . To the south rises the hill Škarechov ( Skarehof , 270 m).

Neighboring towns are Mnetěš and Černouček in the north, Horní Beřkovice in the northeast, Jeviněves in the east, Vraňany and Mlčechvosty in the southeast, Vepřek, Nová Ves and Sazená in the south, Miletice in the southwest, Loucká in the west and Straškov-Vodochody in the northwest.

history

Archaeological finds prove a settlement of the place since the Neolithic Age . The first historical reports about Ledčice indicate that the village was owned by the Vršovci prince Nemoj in 1102 . His son Mutina sold all of his goods to the Doxan monastery in 1187 . Ottokar I. Přemysl confirmed the possession of the Premonstatese monastery in 1226, this is also the first documentary mention of Ledčice.

During the Hussite War, the village came to secular owners. In 1436 Jan Smiřický von Smiřice bought the place. Other owners were from 1556 Samuel von Hrádek and from 1616 Polyxena von Lobkowicz . Ledčice was an exceptionally large village at that time.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ledčice formed a municipality in the Roudnice district from 1848 . In 1887, the first children's institution in Central Bohemia was built in Ledčice. Since 1961 the municipality belongs to the Okres Mělník . In 2001 ALPINE stavebni spolecnost CZ, as built a sand-gravel washing and crushing plant for the annual processing of 630,000 tons of raw material.
