Horní Počaply ( German Ober-Potschapl ) is a central Bohemian municipality with 1272 inhabitants (as of September 2006) on the left bank of the Elbe in the Czech Republic . It is located 18 kilometers northwest of Melnik and belongs to the district of the same name . The lowest point of the circle is the surface of the Elbe near the village of Horní Počaply (153 meters).
history
The first documentary mention comes from the year 1286 . The village has been heated by the district heating network since 2000 , which comes from the incineration of waste in the Mělník II power plant .

In Horní Počáply (721 inhabitants, gendarmerie post , pier, Catholic church) the following trades were registered in 1932: biographer Sokol , brickworks, hairdresser, 4 inns, wheelwright, blacksmith, 3 tailors, 3 shoemakers, 2 bakers, 5 farmers, 3 butchers, 3 general stores, savings and substitute association in Horní Počáplý, builder, 3 seamstresses, 2 tobacconists , 2 carpenters
Attractions
- Church of the Assumption of Mary: built as a Gothic church (preserved inside the present church) around the 14th century, first mention from this period. Renewed 1869–1871. It is a nave with a rectangular presbytery and an extension at ground level. A square tower on the west facade, renovated in the 19th century. In the presbytery, cross vaults with wedge-shaped ribs on pyramid-shaped consoles and a sanctuary with a profile frame (high Gothic, end of the 15th century) nave with pointed windows, corner pilasters and turrets. On the left corner of the facade there is a plaque with the year 1871.

- Křivenice : Independent municipality until 1961, since then part of Horní Počaply. The village is located on the left bank of the Elbe, 7 km northwest of Melnik, in the immediate vicinity of the Mělník power plant. Altitude 161 m nm During his stays in Liběchov , the painter Max Švabinský migrated to Křivenice and prepared here for his monumental work Žně .
traffic
The double-track electrified main line, the Děčín – Prague line (route 090) with the stations (Prague -) Vraňany - Roudnice nad Labem - Ústí nad Labem - Děčín , which was opened in 1850 as the Northern State Railway, runs through the municipality .
Public bus lines connect the municipality with Mělník , Prague, Roudnice nad Labem and Štětí . The S4 (Prague - Vraňany - Hněvice) and R4 (Prague - Kralupy nad Vltavou - Hněvice) passenger trains of the Esko Prague rapid transit network stop at Horní Počaply station (14 passenger trains (Os) daily, 10 on weekends). Express trains and express trains don't stop here.
