His descendants made Beškovice their seat and called themselves Beškovice von Beškovic. The fortress, which was inhabited until the 16th century, was probably destroyed in the Thirty Years' War and remained desolate . In the second half of the 18th century it was demolished for the construction of a stately sheep farm.

Around 1690, Ferdinand Christoph Graf von Scheidlern had a stone bell tower built on the old cemetery instead of a wooden previous building. In 1753, at the instigation of Baroness von Obytec, the church was rebuilt in Baroque style and the parish was renewed.

After the abolition of patrimonial Citov formed a municipality in the Mělník district from 1848 . The place name Cítov has been in use since 1921. In 1976, Daminěves was renamed, which had previously been incorporated into Býkev since 1961 . In 2005 the parish in Cítov was dissolved.
