The village Vidim (German Widim ) is located in the Středočeský kraj region ( Czech Republic ).

history

Vidim was first mentioned in 1294 as the property of the Zbraslav Monastery . At the beginning of the 14th century, Lords Pula ( Půla ) and Heinrich ( Jindřich ) von Vidim lived in the local fortress. They were followed by the noble Berka von Dauba family , Nikolaus von Lobkovicz and the Smiřický von Smiřice family, and in the middle of the 16th century the Hrzan von Harasov family until King Rudolf II bought it in 1610 . Just one year later, the Krone sold the village back to Wenzel Berka von Dauba . After his participation in the class uprising in 1618, he belonged to the 30-strong directorate of the rebels, and the suppression of the revolt his subjects attacked the property and the castle, pillaged them and looted them. After the conviction and execution of Wenceslas, the confiscated lands came to Adam von Waldstein , who a short time later left them to Albrecht Wenzel Eusebius von Waldstein , as part of his Duchy of Friedland . After Wallenstein's murder, the village fell to his general Johann Böck. Under his rule from 1661 to 1700, a large part of the Bohemian population was driven out and the area was settled by German compatriots. The village also changed hands in quick succession.
