In the period that followed, Veltrusy was owned by various noble families. Zdeňko von Šternberk sold the place in 1497 to Jindřich Firšic from Nabdín, who joined him to the Beškovice rule . In 1716, Václav Antonín Chotek had a baroque castle built north of the city opposite the old Všestudský potok arm, which remained the seat of the Counts Chotek until 1945. The first trade exhibition in 1754 was also attended by Maria Theresa .
