history

The first written mention of the village was in 1318 in connection with Przibislaus de Dolan. The Vladiken von Dolan, who are considered to be the ancestors of the noble Mladota von Solopisk family , owned the estate until the middle of the 14th century. In 1337 Ješek Prosinka von Dolan sold the estate to the Lords of the Cross with the Red Star , who already owned the surrounding estates Kralup and Černuc . In 1406 the Crusaders leased the Dolan fortress to Eliška Škopková from Dubá. Around 1430, the lords of Valdek acquired the fortress and the village as a pledge. Between 1454 and 1455, the Grand Master of the Cross Lords Oldřich Medek von Valdek released the village of Dolánky, located across from Dolany on the other bank of the Vltava, from his relatives. While part of the Dolany estate was pledged to various lower noble families, another part was transferred as a pledge to Messrs. Zajíc von Hasenburg on Chvatěruby . Around 1560, the Knights of the Cross bought this part of the village back with the fortress of Zikmund Chvatěrubský from Lestkov and attached it to their Tursko estate . The other part of the farm was owned by Messrs Strauch von Chlumek in the 16th century, later bought by Boryně ze Lhoty and sold to the Minkowitz ( Mikovice ) estate . This passed into the possession of Duke Julius Franz von Sachsen-Lauenburg in 1669 , who linked the Minkowitz estate with the rule of Swoleniowes . After his death, the dukes of Tuscany and finally the Habsburgs followed as owners of Swoleniowes.

In 1843 Dolan consisted of 52 houses with 371 inhabitants. Of these, 37 houses belonged to the Minkowitz estate, which was part of the Swoleniowes rule, and 15 to the Tursko estate . In the Minkowitz part there was a stately garden with a gardener's house, a leased Meierhof, an inn and a brick kiln. Aside from the village, the Tursko share included a two-speed mill on the Vltava River and an official hunter's house. The parish was in Libschitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Dolan remained partially subordinate to the rule Swoleniowes with the Minkowitz estate and the Tursko estate.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Dolany / Dolan from 1850, a municipality in the district Slaný and judicial district Velvary . At that time the area was a center of fruit-growing, with the Dolan plums ( Dolanské švestky ) a special variety of plums was grown here. Between 1896 and 1901, under the direction of the Commission for the Sewerage of the Vltava and Elbe , the Lanna company built a dam in the Vltava between Libčice and Dolany. From 1912 Dolany belonged to the judicial district of Kralupy nad Vltavou and was also assigned to the newly formed district of Kralupy nad Vltavou the following year. In 1932 the village had about 700 inhabitants. In 1942 Dolany became part of the Roudnice nad Labem district . After the end of the Second World War, the community came back to Okres Kralupy nad Vltavou. After its abolition, Dolany was assigned to Okres Praha-západ in 1960, and since 2007 the community has belonged to Okres Mělník . Debrno was incorporated in 1961. In August 2002 parts of the village Dolany were flooded during the Vltava flood.
