Boryně ze Lhoty

Boryně ze Lhoty (also Boreň ze Lhoty ) was an old Czech noble family.

They came from Lhota near Saaz . The name Boreň (later also Boryně) is an abbreviation of the first name Bořivoj, which was later used as their surname.

In their coat of arms they had two crossed forks. The shield was red, the forks silver with gold attachments. They used eight ostrich feathers, alternately silver and red, as jewelry.

Personalities

In the first half of the 15th century the brothers Boreň, Benesch and Paul are still mentioned on Lhota. Before 1472, Johann Lhota von Lhota held a part of Měcholupy .

  • Jan Boryně ze Lhoty (~ 1458; † 1541 in Minice ) acquired Míkovice near Kralup around 1523 . He was appointed royal procurator and in 1526 was one of those who elected Ferdinand king.
    • David owned lands in Hostomice .
    • Heinrich (Jindřich) inherited Neosablitz , but soon died without an heir.
    • Georg (Jiřík) kept Zeměchy and also died without descendants.
    • Petr († 1560) held Lobeč , inherited the fortune of his brother Heinrich, and in 1559 bought Schönburg Castle and lands. In 1560 he was shot between Schönburg and Klösterle . Wife: Benigna von Jendorf.
    • Zdislav († 1573), was a tailor for Archduke Ferdinand. Wife: Ludmila z Vřesovic .
    • Johann (Jan) († 1577) inherited Míkovice, but he sold it to his brother David, Lord on Hostomice.

      • David received half Zeměchy, as well as Lobeč and Míkovice. In 1565 he bought Roztoky . Because of his participation in the uprising of the estates , his lands were given to him as a fief, from which he was released shortly afterwards. Then he was captain of the district of Schlan. Wife: Lidmila von Ritschan .
        • Johann († 1613) inherited some villages from his mother, received part of Míkovice and Ředhošť , bought Mšený Castle in 1607 , received further lands in 1612, and bought others. Wife: Magdaléna von Roupov .

          • Johann David, inherited Mšený , bought Krašov in 1631 , but the family lost due to high debt after his death. Wife: Anna Ludmila von Dohalitz
          • Adam Wenzel was the master of Mikovice. His daughters sold the lands to Sezimov from Vrtba .

        • Wenceslas († 1619 in Vinaře) inherited Roztoky from his father and in 1604 bought the Vilémov monastery .
          • David inherited Roztoky. Wife: Veronika von Gryspach. Because of his participation in the class uprising, he lost a fifth of his fortune in 1625.
          • Johann inherited farms in Ctěnice , which he exchanged for Budeničky in 1626 . His brother Wilhelm inherited this after his death.
          • Wilhelm († 1650) inherited Vilémov that he lost after the class uprising. Wife: Marie Elisabeth Mitrovská z Nemyšle.

Other personalities

  • Otto, mentioned in 1623 as a lord on Březno, that he lost to his wife Mandaléna Boryňova after the uprising.
  • Petr, emigrated in 1628, but returned to Bohemia for a while in 1631.
  • Wilhelm Ignaz, a son of one of the above, praised Königstreuer in 1691.
  • In 1735 Frant bequeathed his farms to his wife Barbara Katharina Enis and Konukwitz.

In 1758 Josef, Ignaz, Anna and Sophie applied for admission to the knighthood. However, the request was not granted because the children were illegitimate.
