Okres Praha-západ (German District Prague-West ) is a district in Středočeský kraj in the Czech Republic .
geography
Around 108,000 inhabitants live on an area of 581 km², 37% of them in the nine towns of the district: Roztoky , Černošice , Dobřichovice , Řevnice , Libčice nad Vltavou , Jílové u Prahy , Mníšek pod Brdy , Hostivice and Rudná . With an age index of 81.6, the district has the cheapest value in Central Bohemia.
Since January 1, 2007, Dolany has belonged to Okres Mělník .
economy
The area never belonged to the large industrial areas, rather medium-sized companies were settled here, mainly with metal processing and building materials. Many trading companies are currently settling here. Major employers are Raab Karcher Staviva, AAA Auto and Delvita.
population
The share of the working population in relation to all inhabitants is 53%. 19% of them work in industry and around 3% in agriculture. The average gross wage is 18,128 crowns and Praha-západ is one of the districts with the highest wages in the Czech Republic. Unemployment is the lowest in the country: 3%.
Attractions
The district is a recreational region. There are numerous weekend houses along the Berounka , Vltava and Sázava rivers . There are some nature reserves in the area, such as Český kras and Medník . Cultural and historical monuments can also be found here:
