Okres Beroun is a district in the western part of the Středočeský kraj in the Czech Republic . It consists of mountainous terrain, with plains in some enclaves west of Beroun and near Hostomice , Neumětel and Litná . The lowest point is the surface of the Berounka River near Zadní Třebaň at 211 m above sea level. M., the highest point is the mountain Jivina (620 m above sea level). Besides rocky landscapes, the banks of the Berounka and numerous caves ( Koněpruské jeskyně ) belong to the most beautiful areas . Forests take up more than a third of the area of ​​662 km². 76,000 inhabitants live in the district, 40.6% of the district's population live in the five towns of Beroun, Hořovice , Hostomice, Zdice and Žebrák .
