history

The first written mention of the village was made around 1360 in connection with Prziedwoy de Korna . It is believed that its seat was a fortress in the upper part of the village, which in 1540 was described as desolate.

In 1846 Korno consisted of 25 houses with 156 inhabitants. The community operated two quarries in which limestone and red marble were extracted, whereby the marble was not for sale because of its soft consistency. The parish was in Litten . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subordinate to the kk Montan-Herrschaft Königshof in the Berauner district .

After the abolition of patrimonial Korno formed a community in the judicial district of Beroun from 1850. In 1868 the municipality was assigned to the Hořowitz district . Korno has been part of the Okres Beroun since 1936. In 1960 the village was incorporated into Měňany . Korno has been part of the Český kras Protected Landscape Area since 1972. Korno broke away from Měňany on November 24, 1990 and formed its own community. The historic town center was declared a rural monument protection area in 1995 because of its preserved folk architecture.
