history

According to ancient traditions, the Zlatý kůň is said to have been a place of worship for the pagan deity Svantovite .

The first written mention of the place took place in 1257, when King Ottokar II. Přemysl donated the Vorwerkshof Bitow to the Prague Hospital of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star . The courtyard was later emphyteutized and the village laid out on its corridors. At the end of the 13th century a Vladikensitz was built in Bítov , the owners of the village at that time were the Prague Cross Lords. In 1324, Markvart and Michal von Bítov were the owners of the Bítov fortress, and in 1421 it belonged to the brothers Jan Sláma and Jakub von Bítov. Later the village was added to the rule of the royal court . During the Thirty Years War in 1634 Saxon troops devastated the area, five years later the Swedish army invaded under Field Marshal Banér . After the end of the war, Bítov was largely deserted. In the berní rula , only the farm yard with two meadows and 302 lines of arable land was listed. The administration and income of the Königshofer share of the cameraman Zbirow were assigned to the kk Montan-Aerar in 1834 as the kk Montan-Herrschaft or Berg-Cameralherrschaft Königshof. It remained subordinate to the kk Oberamt Zbirow , but was given an administrator. The inhabitants of the village originally lived from agriculture; since the 19th century, part of his livelihood has been earned by working in the quarries, in the Königshof cement factory and the Karlshütten ironworks.

In 1846 the village of Bittow or Bitow in the Berauner district consisted of 18 Dominikal houses with 166 inhabitants. There was an official forester's house in the village. On the Kosow hill, the rulers operated a limestone quarry in which Zditzer lime was extracted. The parish was Počapl . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subordinate to the Imperial and Royal Montan rule .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed bytov / Bittow 1850 a district of the municipality Koněprusy in the judicial district Beroun. In 1860 a single-storey schoolhouse was inaugurated in Koněprusy, and the children from Bytov who had previously been taught in Počaply were also enrolled in the new school. In 1868 the village was assigned to the Hořowitz district . Jarov became independent in 1881. In 1898, the small railway Králův Dvůr - Beroun - Koněprusy ( Drobná dráha Králův Dvůr - Beroun - Koněprusy , KBK), which connected the limestone quarries with the cement factory Karlova Huť, started operations. In 1900, 101 people lived in Bytov's 22 houses. By the First World War, the number of inhabitants rose to 130. From 1920 Bytov formed its own municipality. Bítov has been part of the Okres Beroun since 1936. In 1960 Bítov was incorporated into Koněprusy. The 760 mm small railway Králův Dvůr - Beroun - Koněprusy was shut down in 1962 and the line was later dismantled. In 1991 the village had 33 inhabitants; in the 2001 census, 31 people lived in the 16 houses in Bítov. The extensive Kosov quarry is operated northwest of Bítov.
