Felbabka is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 13 kilometers north of Příbram and belongs to the Okres Beroun .
geography
Felbabka is located north of the Brdy Forest on the border with the Brdy military training area, which will run until December 31, 2015 . The village lies at the western foot of the Ostrý (538 m), on which the remains of the Ostrý castle are located. To the east, the Litavka emerges from the Brdy in a deeply cut valley. Beyond the valley rises the Plešivec (653 m).
Neighboring towns are Rpety in the north, Lhotka in the northeast, Rejkovice in the east, Jince in the southeast, Evženov and Křešín in the south, Hrachoviště in the southwest, Podluhy in the west and Dražovka and Hořovice in the northwest.
history
Felbabka was first mentioned in a document in 1657. The place name is derived from the sergeant's rank of sergeant . Felbabka was a mining settlement, there was an iron ore mine at Ostrý. The settlement belonged to the Jince estate until 1806 when it came to Hořovice . After the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848, Felbabka became a district of Rpety and became independent in 1954.
In the vicinity of the village there are fossils of primeval animals.
