history

Archaeological finds prove a Celtic settlement from the period from 200 to 100 BC. Later a small Slavic settlement emerged in the basin.

Broumy was first mentioned in a document on March 10, 1358 by Charles IV , who confirmed that he had two heirs . After the farm was burned down during the Hussite Wars , a hoof was split up for settlement. The fiefdom for the other expired in 1658. The forests around the village belonged to the hunting grounds of the Bohemian kings and the residents were obliged to hunt for driving services, catching dogs in the wild and supervising the dogs. Broumy belonged to Křivoklát Castle and was often pledged as security for royal debts. George of Podebrady struck the village of the Týřov castle .

In 1599, the glassmaker Christoph Schürer received six Hufen Wald as an inheritance and built a glassworks , which included a residential building with an outbuilding , fields, a pond as well as a grinding mill and board saw. The glassworks had baking, slaughtering, brewing and serving rights for old and wheat beer for its own use. For the most part, the hut produced for the needs of the imperial court and mainly manufactured glassware for the use of the court alchemists . During the reign of Rudolf II , Broumy fell to the lords of Lobkowicz as a pledge and became subject to Točník Castle.

The heyday of the glassworks ended with the Thirty Years' War. In 1658 the Schwarzenbergs became the owners of Broumy. In 1685 Ernst Josef von Waldstein acquired the rule, which in 1735 came to the Fürstenberg dynasty by inheritance . After the removal of patrimonial Broumy became an independent municipality in 1848.

In 1851, the Waldsteiners acquired the glassworks and converted it into a Vorwerk. During the land reform of 1923, the corridors were parceled out.
