The Zádušní les forest west of the village also belonged to the church property. Since the 15th century, iron stone mining took place in the vicinity of the village; in the eastern area, especially around Malé Přílepy, coal was mined. Shortly before 1463 the Lords of Sternberg acquired Železná. They donated the village to the cathedral chapter of St. Vitus at Prague Castle in 1507 . During the class uprising of 1618 , Železná was confiscated by the Protestants and returned to the chapter after the Battle of White Mountain , in whose possession it then remained without interruption. The village was devastated during the Thirty Years War. Parish registers have been kept in Železná since 1664. in 1681 the Church of the Assumption of Mary was restored. The church in Hořelice belonged to the parish of Železná until 1698 as a branch. The trivial school was first mentioned in 1711. Lessons were held in Chaluppe No. 6 belonging to the cantor. In 1841 the new schoolhouse was inaugurated.

In 1843 Železna consisted of 41 houses with 372 inhabitants. The parish church of the Assumption of Mary, the parish and the school were under lordly patronage. There was also an inn in Železna .
