Hořovice Castle (German Horschowitz Castle ) is located in Hořovice in the Okres Beroun in the Czech Republic .

The castle was built in two stages. In the first half of the 19th century, the last Elector of Hesse, Friedrich Wilhelm I , had it radically rebuilt and extended according to plans by the Kassel architect Gottlob Engelhard . The castle only got its final shape after further structural changes at the beginning of the 20th century. The interior has a predominantly late classical character.

The castle was the residence of the von Hanau family until the end of World War II . They are descendants of Friedrich Wilhelm I from his morganatic marriage to Gertrude Lehmann , who later became Princess of Hanau.
