Petrov (German Petrow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 22 kilometers south of the city center of Prague and belongs to the Okres Praha-západ .

geography

Petrov is located in the west of the Euler Mountains ( Jílovská vrchovina ) on a plateau bounded in the north by the valley of the Zahořanský potok , in the south by the valley of the Sázava and in the west by the Vltava valley . State road II / 104 between Davle and Jílové u Prahy runs through the village . The Amarila stream has its source in Petrov. The railway line Čerčany – Vrané nad Vltavou runs south through the Sázava valley. The Střed Čech Nature Park extends to the east. To the north rises the Ďábel ( Kopanina , 398 m nm), to the east the U Obrázku (446 m nm) and the Zahrádka (412 m nm), to the southeast the Medník (417 m nm) and west of the Chlomek ( Hlomek , 365 m nm) ).

Neighboring towns are Nové Okrouhlo in the north, Zahořany, Kamenná Vrata and Obora in the northeast, Horní Studené in the east, Bohuliby and Luka pod Medníkem in the southeast, Pikovice in the south, Mandát and Hvozdnice in the southwest, Chlomek and Davle in the west and Oleško in the northwest.

The geometric center of Bohemia is located on the Ďábel .

history

Petrov was probably founded in the 13th century by the Insula Benedictine monastery . The village was first mentioned in writing in 1310 in a bull by Pope Clement V , in which he confirmed the possession of the monastery. After the destruction of the monastery by the Hussites , Petrov came to various secular owners. One of them was Wilhelm von Rosenberg , who bought Petrov in 1585 along with the surrounding villages and left it to the alchemist Edward Kelley in 1590 . In the Middle Ages gold mining was carried out in the corridors of the village. In 1731 the Archbishop of Prague, Franz Ferdinand von Kuenburg, bought the village and added it to his rule Dolní Břežany ; subsequently Petrov always remained in the possession of the Prague Archdiocese .

In 1843 Petrov consisted of 19 houses with 129 inhabitants. The parsonage was owl . The main source of income was agriculture; homeworkers were Veniks made that were sold through factors up abroad. Until the middle of the 19th century, Petrov remained subject to Dolní Břežany.

After the abolition of the manorial lordship , Petrov formed from 1850 with the districts Bohuliby and Sázava a municipality in the political district owl and judicial district owl . From 1869 Petrov belonged to the Karolinenthal District and from 1878 to the Royal Vineyards District . From 1921 the community belonged to the Okres Jílové. Since the 1920s, Petrov has developed into a summer retreat for Prague residents. The Chlomek holiday home area was built on the Sázava cadastre between 1926 and 1929. In 1932 there were 534 people living in Petrov (with Bohuliby and Sázava); There were eight inns in the community, seven farmers, three tobacconists, three general stores, a brickyard, a concrete goods factory, a construction company, a baker and a blacksmith.

1950 Petrov was assigned to the Okres Praha-východ . In 1961 the community was reclassified to Okres Praha-západ . A gold mine was operated in the eastern part of the cadastre until 1968. On July 1, 1968, the district Sázava was umgemeindet to Davle. At the end of the 20th century, the conversion of most of the holiday homes in Chlomek into residential houses began, and Chlomek has been designated as a district since 2004.

Community structure

The municipality of Petrov consists of the districts Bohuliby ( Boholib ), Chlomek and Petrov ( Petrow ). Basic settlement units are Bohuliby, Chlomek, Petrov and Petrov-chatová oblast. Petrov also owns the Obora estate and numerous holiday home settlements.

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Petrov u Prahy and Sázava u Petrova.
