history

Dabel was mentioned for the first time in 1262 when Prince Johann von Mecklenburg admitted or refused the Closter Dobbertin, Six Hufen at the village of Dabele, which Thydericus Vlotow had. On January 28, 1263, Pope Urban V took the Dobbertin monastery and its property, including six Hufen zu Dabele , under his protection.

The place name probably originated in the time of the Wende, possibly from "Dab or Dabele" and means oak. In addition to numerous large stone and barrows, archaeological sites with ceramics and gray ware bear witness to an early settlement .

Prince Heinrich von Mecklenburg sold the Nepersmühlen lake to the Sonnenkamp monastery in 1306 and transferred the church loan to the church loan in the same village and the same branch, namely the church in Dabele. The main property in Dabel was owned by Mallin until 1336. Thereafter, the Dobbertin monastery bought the village and on December 8, 1336, Prince Albrecht von Mecklenburg confirmed ownership. The village remained in the possession of the Dobbertin monastery until the 17th century. On October 5, 1583, Duke Ulrich gave the monastery patronage over the Dabel church, in addition to various properties near Dabel, which belonged to the Sonnenkamp monastery in Neukloster . The Dobbertiner patronage lasted until 1642.

Before 1645 there were twelve farmers and seven kossats in Dabel, after 1645 there were only three farmers.

After 1945 Dabel first belonged to the state of Mecklenburg and then from 1952 to 1990 to the Schwerin district . Dabel was the location of the NVA from 1973 to 1990 . After the fall of the Wall , Dabel was the Bundeswehr base for the 405 tank artillery battalion until 2006 .

Holzendorf

In 1235 ten Hufen belonged to the knight Detlev Thetlev von Gadebusch zu Holzendorf, south of Sternberg. the toe of ten hooves to Holzendorff in Villa Holtzatorum, which his uncle Thetleuus, a knight of Godebuz, had to borrow from him, the bishop Brunward of Schwerin.

Turloff

In 1256, Pribislav von Richenberg gave his chaplain Jordan the parish of Wamckow with Turglove Villa as the neighboring town of Turloff. In addition to the desert villages of Buchholz and Stampen, Turloff belonged to the parish of Wamckow. In 1316 Heinrich von Mecklenburg lent Berthold von Wamekow the village of Torgelow villa Torgelowe , today's Turloff. In 1447 the place was closed Dorpstede to Thurgelowe, the villa was closed. 1534 can be heard eyne wuste veltmarke Torgeloge genomet, de veltmarke hefft nu hertich Hinrick thor vogedie thom sternberge.

coat of arms

Dabel coat of arms
Blazon : "In gold over a lowered blue wave thread a red Dutch windmill, accompanied: on top and on both sides by a blue oak leaf with a black stem, on it two blue fruits."

The coat of arms and the flag were designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick . It was approved together with the flag on June 19, 2002 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under No. 264 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Justification of the coat of arms: The main motif of the coat of arms refers to the symbol of the municipality, the gallery Dutch windmill. At the same time, it embodies a characteristic building of historical agricultural engineering. The wave thread refers to the surrounding waters, especially the Holzendorfer See, while the oak leaves refer to the forest. The tinging of the coat of arms in blue, gold and red indicates that the municipality belongs to the state of Mecklenburg.
