Groß Krams is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). It is administered by the Office Hagenow-Land , based in the city of Hagenow .

geography

Groß Krams is located in the Griesen area , a wooded area between the rivers Sude , Elde and Elbe . The flat, undulating area slopes down west of Groß Krams towards the broad valley of the Sude. There is a large military training area southwest of the municipality .

Groß Krams is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bresegard near Picher in the northeast, Alt Krenzlin in the south, Belsch in the west and Redefin in the northwest.

history

On January 1, 1974, Groß Krams was incorporated into Redefin . On May 1, 1990, the place became an independent municipality again.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off the neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE GROß KRAMS • LANDKREIS LUDWIGSLUST-PARCHIM".

traffic

The federal highway 5 from Ludwigslust to Boizenburg / Elbe (before 1990 transit road from Berlin to Hamburg ) touches the north of the community. The next larger cities are Ludwigslust, Hagenow and Lübenheen (all about 15 kilometers away). From Hagenow there is a rail and motorway connection ( A 24 Berlin – Hamburg).
