The Amt Hagenow-Land is an administrative community of twenty communities that are located around the city of Hagenow . The official seat of Hagenow is not itself an official. The office is located in the western half of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district .

The current office was initially created as an administrative community, the founding contract of which was signed on September 26, 1991 by the mayors of the municipalities involved. From this, the first state ordinance on the formation of offices and the determination of municipalities not subject to official duties of March 25, 1992 became the Hagenow-Land office.
