In the Wittenburg Office , the city of Wittenburg (official seat) and the municipality of Wittendkörper are united to handle their administrative business. The office is located in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany) and borders the Northwest Mecklenburg district . It was created on January 1, 2004 from the merger of the formerly free city of Wittenburg and the Wittenburg-Land office .
Until May 25, 2014, the municipalities of Lehsen and Körchow also belonged to the Wittenburg office and were then incorporated into Wittenburg.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal
The office does not have an officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "AMT WITTENBURG".
