The Eldenburg Lübz office is located in the southeast of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany) on the border with the state of Brandenburg . Eleven municipalities are united in this office to carry out their administrative business. The administrative headquarters are in Lübz .

On July 1, 2004, the Eldenburg Lübz office was formed from the municipalities of the dissolved offices of Ture and Marnitz and the formerly free city of Lübz. On January 1, 2012, the municipality of Herzberg merged with the municipality of Grebbin to form the new municipality of Obere Warnow , which is administered by the Parchimer Umland office. Karbow-Vietlübbe and Wahlstorf merged on January 1, 2014 to form the municipality of Gehlsbach . Marnitz , Suckow and Tessenow on January 1, 2019 to the municipality of Ruhner Berge . On May 26, 2019, the Gischow community was incorporated into the city of Lübz.

The official area extends in a hilly terminal moraine landscape southeast and east of Parchim to the Ruhner Mountains . It is crossed by the Müritz-Elde waterway . In the south, the area borders on the state of Brandenburg, in the north on the Goldberg-Mildenitz office , in the west on the Parchimer Umland and the district town of Parchim and in the east on the Plau am See office . The Ruhner Mountains are 176.8  m above sea level. NHN the highest elevation.

In addition to agriculture and the increasingly dominant wind power , tourism in particular is playing an increasing role.

The federal road 191 ( Ludwigslust - Plau am See ) leads through the Eldenburg Lübz office . The federal highway 24 runs south of the official area , east of it the A 19 .

The office does not have an officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "AMT ELDENBURG LÜBZ".
