In the Dömitz-Malliß office , six municipalities and the city of Dömitz as the official seat were combined to handle their administrative business. The office is located in the southwest of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and borders the federal states of Lower Saxony and Brandenburg in the west and south .

The office was formed on June 13, 2004 from the former Dömitz and Malliss offices. The Gorlosen community came to the Grabow-Land office .

Dömitz is one of the two Mecklenburg cities that lie on the Elbe . From here the Müritz-Elde waterway connects the Elbe with the Müritz and the upper Havel .

The office does not have an officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "AMT DÖMITZ-MALLIß".

The Dömitz-Malliß office has maintained a partnership with the rural community of Białogard ( Belgard ) in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship since 2001 .
