Laupin is a district of the community of Vielank in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The community of Vielank is part of the Dömitz-Malliß district .

The name is derived from the Slavic word "Lopen", which means burdock.

The original round village of Laupin lies between Tewswoos and Leussow . Like many villages in the region, it was burned down during the Thirty Years' War .

On July 1, 1950, Laupin was incorporated into the municipality of Tewswoos.

In the village there are two of the oldest half-timbered houses in Mecklenburg from 1651 and 1687.
