Leussow is a district of the municipality of Göhlen in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).
Geography and traffic
Leussow is located in the Griesen area . Nearby cities are Hagenow , Lübenheen and Ludwigslust. The federal highway 5 runs about eight kilometers north of Leussow.
history
The first documentary mention comes from the year 1291 as "Loysowe", which is derived from the Old Slavic word "lysŭ" 'bald' and meant bare place . According to records from 1833, Kavelmoor was a Büdner settlement .
With effect from May 26, 2019, the municipality of Leussow was incorporated as an exclave in the municipality of Göhlen to the east (behind a piece of forest belonging to the municipality of Alt Krenzlin ) . The municipality of Leussow was administered by the Office Ludwigslust-Land with its seat in the non-official city of Ludwigslust . The district of Kavelmoor belonged to the municipality of Leussow.
