About this picture

Lübesse is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). It is administered by the Office Ludwigslust-Land with its seat in the non-official city of Ludwigslust .

The districts Lübesse, Hasenhäge and Ortkrug belong to the community.

Geography and traffic

The community is located on Landesstraße 72 (formerly Bundesstraße 106 ) about 13 kilometers south of Schwerin . The federal motorway 24 can be reached via the junction Wöbbelin seven kilometers away.

history

1700 to mid-20th century

Forest house in Hasenhäge

The places “Lubbes” and “Ortkrog” are noted on maps from around 1700, according to which Lübesse was a parish after Uelitz . Hasenhäge is an old forest place name, which was taken over from the Banzkower forest reserve in the 19th century .

1950 to 1989

During the GDR times, the company holiday camp Hermann Schlimme was built and maintained by VEB Gießerei- und Maschinenbau Berlin-Lichtenberg. The VEB WGK (Housing and Community Building Combine) Schwerin made another company holiday camp available to the children of its employees. It was left to decay after 1990. In the Ortkrug district, the Deutsche Post Berlin-Pankow set up another children's holiday camp from the mid-1960s after converting a historic manor. There was a separate bathing area right on the Drewitzer See . The capacity was around 100 children, including a group of schoolchildren from Czechoslovakia . These came on the basis of a sponsorship agreement with their own group leader.

Since 1990

During excavations at the Humboldt University in Berlin between 2002 and 2005, southwest of the Lübesse location, traces of settlement from the late Roman Empire and the early migration period were found.

After the reunification , the population of the place more than doubled, which is mainly due to the urban exodus . A large industrial area and a wind farm were built on the northern outskirts.

coat of arms

Coat of arms of Lübesse
Blazon : “Divided; Above, in gold, a day-lit red house with a gable roof, six arched windows arranged in beams and a door in the middle part as well as two rectangular and two arched windows (2: 2) in the side wings; below in red a running golden hare. "

The coat of arms and the flag were designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick . It was approved on March 19, 1996 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under No. 88 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Reasons for the coat of arms: The coat of arms and the house refer to the listed building of the stables in the Ortkrug district, which used to be used to unhitch and rest horses from carriages. With the hare as a talking symbol, a visual reference to the name of the district Hasenhäge is established. The tinging reminds of the fact that Lübesse belonged to the former county of Schwerin .
