Zülow is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). It is administered by the Stralendorf Office , based in the Stralendorf municipality.
Geography and transport links
Zülow is about ten kilometers southwest of Schwerin on the Grambower Moor . The Sude flows along the southwestern boundary of the municipality, the Ottergraben, which drains the Grambower Moor, runs through the village and flows into the Zare in the western municipality . The federal highway 321 runs seven kilometers east of the village . The Hagenow junction to the federal motorway 24 is 13 kilometers away.
history
There are megalithic graves between Zülow and Stralendorf .
Zülow is an old manor village. This is revealed not least by the arrangement of the streets and buildings around the estate and the anger-like village square. It is the ancestral seat of the von Zülow family (and not to be confused with the Zülow manor in Sternberg ). The Zülow church still has the von Zülow family coat of arms windows. Today's manor house is a clinker brick building built around 1845 in the late Classicist style for the Counts of Schack .
politics
The municipal council elected in 2004 consists of 5 non-party individual applicants.
Coat of arms, flag, official seal
The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE ZÜLOW • LANDKREIS LUDWIGSLUST-PARCHIM".
