An originally Holstein noble family, which led three arrows pointing to the right (= Strale) in the family coat of arms, founded the place in an undetermined time after 1160. Claus von Stralendorff became princely counselor to Nicolaus von Werle around 1230 . After the 14th century, Stralendorf was a manor , which was owned by the Dukes of Mecklenburg from 1520 at the latest. The population suffered from the Thirty Years' War . The church, the smithy and two farms were destroyed by arson.
To the east of the location is a former household waste dump, which was operated from 1978 to 1996. After 1990 an approximately 15 hectare industrial area was created. The exodus from the city of Schwerin made as in the remaining region of rising population numbers after the turn .

coat of arms
Blazon : “Split; in front in gold three slanting red arrows in stakes; behind in red a golden rape blossom over a golden hunting horn. "
The coat of arms and the flag were designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick . It was approved together with the flag on March 3, 2009 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the no. 321 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. |
|
Reasons for the coat of arms: In the national emblem, the arrow (arrow = mnd. Strale), which is modeled on the coat of arms of those of Stralendorf, should be used as a speaking sign to refer to the place name. The rape blossom stands for the continuing importance of agriculture and the hunting horn for the Hubertus hunting tradition that has been cultivated for several decades. The tinging of the coat of arms in gold and red is reminiscent of Stralendorf's affiliation to the former county of Schwerin. |
flag
The flag is evenly striped in red and yellow across the longitudinal axis of the flag cloth. In the middle of the flag, spanning a third of the length of the red and yellow stripes, is the municipal coat of arms. The relation of the height of the flag cloth to the length is like 3: 5.
