Langen Brütz is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). It is administered by the Crivitz Office , based in Crivitz .
geography
Langen Brütz is located about ten kilometers east of the state capital Schwerin . Other surrounding cities are Brüel and Crivitz . The Warnow flows through the municipality . With the Großer Pohlsee west of Langen Brütz and the Hofsee near Kritzow, through which the motel flows, there are smaller lakes within the municipality. In the northwest the community borders on the Cambser See . Langen Brütz is located in a hilly, picturesque-looking terminal moraine landscape in the Warnow Valley, with the Uhuberg at 90 m above sea level. NHN north-east of Kritzow represents the highest elevation. 39 percent of the municipal area are nature and landscape protection areas.

history
Langen Brütz was first mentioned in a document in 1335 as Bruseuitz in terra Selesen , Kritzow as early as 1317. At that time, the Lords of Drieberg owned the place. The Schwerin cathedral chapter was later mentioned as the owner. The area has been settled for a long time, as some hill and stone graves are evidence of. In 1248, Richenberg Castle (near Kritzow an der Warnow) became the residence of Prince Pribislaw I of Parchim-Richenberg until his deposition in 1256 . From the beginning of the 16th century until 1730 the noble family von Halberstadt owned large parts of the place. Like the entire surrounding area, Langen Brütz was affected by the Thirty Years' War . In 1858 the church was torn down and rebuilt. Half the village burned down in 1897. The estate was relocated in 1923. The area belonged to the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin until the Second World War . After 1945 the place belonged first to the state of Mecklenburg and then from 1952–1990 to the Schwerin district . 1974 Langen Brütz and Kritzow merge. The estate became an agricultural productive cooperative (APG) in the 1990s.

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE LANGEN BRÜTZ".
