coat of arms

Coat of arms of Alt Zachun
Blazon : “Divided; Above, in red, an erect, golden-crowned, red-tongued, black-armored, double-tailed golden lion, accompanied in the right upper corner by a silver lily; below, in gold on a green three-mountain, a green tree stump with three shoots, of which the two outer shoots are bent inwards with the tips and cross in the lower third of the middle one. "

The coat of arms was designed by the Wismar heraldist Roland Bornschein . It was approved on November 2, 1992 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under No. 47 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Reasons for the coat of arms: On the one hand, the coat of arms contains symbols of former noble local lords. The lion was modeled after the coat of arms of the von Pentz family in a different shape and tinging, which shows a striding, golden crowned and spotted red lion in silver. The lily comes from the coat of arms of the von Schack family, which shows a silver lily in red. For a long time, both families determined the development of the place. On the other hand, the floating tree stump on the Dreiberg is intended to symbolize the flourishing of the community, as well as the main source of income for the inhabitants, agriculture, and the attractive surroundings.

flag

The flag was designed by the Schwerin heraldist Karl-Heinz Steinbruch and approved on July 4, 2001 by the Ministry of the Interior.

The flag is evenly striped lengthways with yellow and red. In the middle of the flag, two thirds of the height of the yellow and red stripes, is the municipal coat of arms. The length of the flag is related to the height as 5: 3.

Official seal

The official seal shows the municipal coat of arms with the inscription "• GEMEINDE ALT ZACHUN • LANDKREIS LUDWIGSLUST-PARCHIM".

Attractions

A memorial stone for the fallen of the First World War is under monument protection on the main street.
