Location of the municipality of Kremmin in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district

The municipality of Kremmin belongs to the Grabow district in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

geography

The community is located about four kilometers southeast of the city of Grabow on the state border with Brandenburg . The Meynbach flows on the southern border of the municipality in the direction of Alte Elde .

The districts of Kremmin and Beckentin belong to the municipality.

history

Urns from the Bronze Age discovered in both districts , which are exhibited today in the Grabow Local History Museum, indicate an early settlement of the district. The discovery of a copper coin of the Roman emperor Severus Alexander from the year 227 could indicate a Roman trade route from Lenzen (Elbe) via Grabow to Wismar . The first written mention of Kremmin comes from the year 1353. The place name comes from Slavic and means pebble stone .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Beckentin was incorporated.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE KREMMIN".

• Manor house in Beckentin, vacant and in need of renovation.

Opposite the manor house is the rest of a cemetery on a hill.
