Lewitzrand is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). It is administered by the Parchimer Umland Office based in Parchim .
geography
The community is located 20 kilometers southeast of Schwerin in the sparsely populated Lewitz, which was formed by the meltwater of the Vistula Ice Age . The flat terrain falls from about 60 m above sea level. NHN in the north to Elde in the south at Garwitz to about 38 meters. The highest point is the Hohe Berg east of Klinken at 61.9 m above sea level. NHN. The landscape is characterized by fields and meadows traversed by ditches and streams. There are larger forest areas west of the district of Klinken and east of Garwitz.
The districts of Garwitz , Klinken , Matzlow , Raduhn and Rusch as well as the Göthen settlement belong to the community.

The community Lewitzrand was formed on June 7, 2009, the day of the local elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, from the formerly independent communities Klinken, Raduhn and Matzlow-Garwitz .

Coat of arms, flag, official seal
The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "• GEMEINDE LEWITZRAND • LANDKREIS LUDWIGSLUST-PARCHIM".

traffic
State road 9 from Crivitz to Parchim and other connecting roads lead through the municipality . The federal highway 24 can be reached via the Neustadt-Glewe connection . The next rail connections are in Friedrichsruhe and Domsühl on the Schwerin – Parchim railway line and in Spornitz on the Ludwigslust – Parchim railway line .
