District Werle
The first written mention of Werle comes from the year 1356. The place was formerly a dead end and farming village. Werle and Hühnerland were in knightly possession, but only parks remain from the manor. The church is a Gothic, single-nave, flat-roofed stone church without a tower. After a fire in 1719, it was rebuilt and extended to the east in half-timbering . The beam ceiling from 1724 shows an ornamental painting. A rare stylistic uniformity has been preserved due to the pulpit altar and the stalls, which were created in the same period. The church is a listed building.
