The Meynbach (also: Meyn ) is a brook in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Brandenburg , which, starting from Hühnerland , flows southwest towards Alte Elde and east towards Tarnitz .

South of the district of Hühnerland, which belongs to the municipality of Prislich , is the apex of the flowing water at an altitude of about 34  m above sea level. NHN on an arable land. Due to renovation work , the straight stream here has the appearance of a drainage ditch. A source at the apex cannot be made out. To the east the brook runs alternately in Mecklenburg and Brandenburg along the state border. The Berlin – Hamburg railway line is crossed. With the Diekhorst in the municipality of Prislichs, a larger deciduous forest borders the water in the north. About three kilometers northeast of Klein Warnow (district of Karstädt ) is the confluence with the Tarnitz at a height of 28.7  m above sea level. HN .

To the southwest, the Meynbach runs to the north of Milow, also on or near the state border. At Groß Warnow the federal highway 5 and the future highway 14 will be crossed. The brook forms river loops south of Gorlosen . The confluence with the Alte Elde is north of Krinitz at about 17  m above sea level. HN .

Both the eastern and western branches of the Meynbach drain via the Tarnitz and the Alte Elde, further via the Löcknitz and the Elbe into the North Sea.

From the eastern municipal boundary of Milow, the lower reaches and the banks are designated as FFH protected area Meynbach near Krinitz . This has a size of 338 hectares. The reason for this is the occurrence of common river mussel , bitterling , bullhead and otter . A 12-kilometer section within the protected area was renatured between 1999 and 2004. Weirs were replaced by slides or bypassed hydraulic engineering in order to make the stagnation sites for the aquatic fauna passable. In addition, embankments were flattened, flow guides installed and fords renovated.

In the summer of 2006, the lower reaches of the Meynbach fell dry at times.
