coat of arms
Blazon : "In gold over a blue corrugated shield base, in it a silver fish, a striding black stag with ten-pointed antlers."
The coat of arms and the flag were largely designed by the Barnin artist Volkert Krietsch . It was approved on July 5, 2012 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under number 342 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. |
|
Justification of the coat of arms: The stag in the coat of arms comes from the coat of arms of the von Lobecke family, who were the first documented owners of the place. The base of the wave shield and the fish refer to the long tradition of fishing in Lake Barnin, through which the Warnow flows. |
flag
The flag was approved by the Ministry of the Interior on August 8, 2012.
The flag is striped lengthways in blue, yellow and blue. The blue stripes each take up a quarter, the yellow stripe half the height of the flag cloth. In the middle of the yellow stripe, seven eighths of the stripe, is a figure from the municipal coat of arms: a striding black stag. In the middle of the lower blue stripe, occupying five eighths of the stripe, lies a figure from the municipal coat of arms: a white fish. The height of the flag is related to the length like 2: 3.
