coat of arms

Bandenitz coat of arms
Blazon : “Split and half split; in front in gold a resisting black dragon; behind: a red bird in silver above; below in red a left-turned golden eagle catch. "

The coat of arms and the flag were designed by the Schwerin heraldist Karl-Heinz Steinbruch . It was approved by the Ministry of the Interior on August 26, 1998 and registered under the number 162 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Justification of the coat of arms: The coat of arms combines symbols from the seals or coats of arms of the first landlords. The lindworm borrowed from the count's seal stands for the county of Schwerin, to whose territory all three places belonged until the end of 1358. The red bird, borrowed from a coat of arms of the von Dorne family, stands for the former owner of Radelübbe, while the golden eagle catch, borrowed from a coat of arms of the von Drieberg family, stands for the former owner of Besendorf.
